A la Sascha

Kant Haken - Dutch Crochet Book
A la Sascha

What is it?
Website and Etsy Pattern Store featuring designs by Sascha Blase

Skill Level
All skill levels represented

Pros
Interesting patterns and projects
Unique ideas and themes
Colorful variety of yarns used in image
Lots of free patterns via her site

Cons
As Sascha lives in the Netherlands her site is primarily written in the Dutch language. Sascha does a great job of providing an English translation below her native language.
Most of her patterns are for purchase - if you prefer to use only free patterns this might not be your cup of tea.

Site URL: http://www.sascha-lovetoknit.blogspot.nl/
Etsy URL: http://www.etsy.com/shop/AlaSascha
Facebook URL: http://www.facebook.com/AlaSascha

I've used a few of Sascha's free patterns and have found them to be easy to follow with clear images.

Rock the hook,
Tia

Ravelry URL: http://www.ravelry.com/designers/jennifer-pionk

I've purchased several of Jennifer's patterns and have found them to be well-written, easy to follow, including helpful tips and images. She is definitely one of my favorite designers in the paid pattern category.

Free Crochet Pattern Directory

Skill Level:
All skill levels represented

Pros:
Tons of great patterns - from clothing to pets to toys
Unique project ideas
Introductions to new crochet designers & crochet sites
Video Tutorials
Easy to navigate

Cons:
Not as extensive as Ravelry
Once you settle on a pattern, finding the actual link to the pattern instructions can be a little tricky. It's in the middle of the page - click on the pink button that says "View Pattern."

Site URL: http://www.theyarnbox.com/
Social Media URL: https://www.facebook.com/TheYarnBox

IMHO:
This is a nice resource for discovering new designers and the site is easy to navigate. There are many adorable patterns for babies and kids and plenty of project and gift ideas to keep your hook busy!

Tia
