4th of July Cozy Pattern


Skill Level: Easy

Materials: Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Red, White and Blue; Hook size H/5.00mm, yarn needle
Gauge: 4 hdc = 1 inch
Key:
CH = chain
SC = single crochet
HDC = half double crochet
SL ST = slip stitch
RND = round
CC = change color

Instructions:

Cozy
With Red, Chain 30, join with first ch to form a loop. Do not turn.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, hdc in same stitch as join, hdc in each chain to the end. Join with 1st hdc. Do not turn.
CC White
Rnd 2: Ch 1, hdc in same stitch as join, hdc in each chain to the end. Join with 1st hdc. Do not turn.
Rnds 3 – 10: Repeat Rnds 1 & 2.
Rnd 11: Repeat Rnd 1. Finish, weave ends.

Star Applique
Blue, Magic loop
Rnd 1: ch 1, 11 hdc in magic loop. Sl st to first hdc. Do not turn.
Rnd 2: *Chain 5, Slip stitch to 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in last ch. Skip 1 st from rnd 1, sl st to next st. Repeat from * 4 times. Finish off. Leave a long tail for sewing star to cozy.

Bring It Together
Using star yarn tail and a yarn needle, sew the star applique onto the cozy, centered in the middle.  (See image for star placement.)

Hexagon Dishcloth Pattern



Difficulty: Easy – great for beginners
Materials: Peaches & Crème Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn in “Stars and Stripes”, Hook size I/5.50MM
Key:
Ch = Chain
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch

Instructions:
Create a magic ring. (A great tutorial at the link.)
Rnd 1: 6 sc in ring. Join with sl st to first sc. (6 sc.)
Rnd 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. (12 sc.)
Rnd 3: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (18 sc.)
Rnd 4: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (24 sc.)
Rnd 5: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (30 sc.)
Rnd 6: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (36 sc.)
Rnd 7: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 5 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (42 sc.)
Rnd 8: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 6 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (48 sc.)
Rnd 9: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 7 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (54 sc.)
Rnd 10: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 8 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (60 sc.)
Rnd 11: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 9 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (66 sc.)
Rnd 12: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 10 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (72 sc.)
Rnd 13: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 11 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (78 sc.)
Rnd 14: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 12 sc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (84 sc.)
Loop: Ch 15. Join with sl st to first ch to form loop. (See image.)
Finish, weave in end.

Note: The ombre yarns (variegated colors) create a nice alternating color effect on the rounds. Enjoy!

Simple Cuff Pattern


Difficulty: Easy (great for beginners)
Materials: Peaches & Crème Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn in “Stars and Stripes”, Hook size H/5.00MM, large button, yarn needle
Key:
Ch = Chain
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Gauge:  1” = 4 sc’s

Instructions:
Chain 7.
Row 1: Sc 6, ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 – 28: Repeat Row 1.
Row 29: 3 Sc2tog, ch 1, turn.
Row 30: Sc3tog, ch 10, sl st to 1st ch to form a loop (for bracelet’s button closure.)
Finish, weave ends in.

Bring It Together:
Using yarn and a yarn needle, sew the button on the bracelet approximately 1 inch in from edge on opposite side of button closure loop.  This will make your cuff fit snuggly on wrist. (See image.)
