December 2012 Creations

Hey Rockers!

Okay, so I am a little behind in blogging. I have been a busy crochet rocker lately...designing new stuff for Craftown (my day job) and thinking up fun new ideas and patterns for Valentine's Day.

Not to mention coming up with my new team spirit beanie (aka: Superbowl Beanie), which I'll be revealing later this week. And yes...the pattern will be free here just for you! You are welcome.

And now, a review of what I designed in December! These patterns are published at Craftown, free for you to use! Just follow the links.

Color Block Beanie

Simple Ruffle Scarf

Bobble Ear Warmer

I'm sort of (okay totally) proud of how each item turned out. I made several of the Simple Ruffle Scarves for Christmas gifts using Red Heart's Boutique Sashay Yarn and received some nice compliments. But actually working with the Sashay Yarn is not so fun on my fingers and a little tedious although not difficult.

So now you know what I did in December! I'll be adding my new team spirit beanie pattern here this week as my little spoiler message said earlier. And, I'll even try really hard to start blogging more regularly. Or at least semi-regularly. Or at least once a month...

Also, if I haven't said it lately: Thank you Crochet Rockers for reading and following this blog and my Facebook Page. You rock the hook! I appreciate all the crochet love!

Gryffindor Love

Hiya Gryffindor Lovers!

I know I have been MIC (missing in crochet) for awhile...mainly due to a nasty sinus infection that lasted about 60 days. Yeah that's right. A two month sinus infection. Nasty.

Anyhow, it was about all I could do to keep up with work, little boys, making dinner and dragging myself through the holidays. (Yes the sinus infection followed me through Thanksgiving into Christmas. Nice.)

I did manage to mix my love of crochet with all things Gryffindor and Harry Potter just because I could. I came up with these Gryffindor hand warmers using the Red Heart Team Spirit yarn in Red and Gold. The pattern is free and published over at Craftown.com (my day job).

The pattern works up pretty fast and uses a single crochet stitch (pretty basic). I used my own hands as a guide as I wrote the pattern so hand warmers will fit a medium to large adult hand. (My hubby can pull them on, though it's a snug fit.)

Follow the link on the images if you would like to crochet this pattern.

So, with renewed health (sort of - I'm on the healing track now) and renewed spirit and energy I embrace the new year and prepare to delve even deeper into my crochet love with all of you, my crochet rockers!

xx

PS: I will be making more Harry Potter themed items this year...they are just so dang fun!

Hello 2013!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hiya Crochet Rockers!

Are you ready for 2013? I totally am. I have a really great feeling about 2013. Who cares what those silly Mayans thought anyway?

As this is just a shout out to all the crochet rockers of the world to welcome 2013, I decided to post some pictures of finished objects and special orders I crocheted over the past 3 months.

Adorable Owl Hat - a gift

Candy Cane Hats - a special order

Baby Ballet Flats - a special order

Infinity Cowl - a gift

Baby Hat & Booties - a special order

Iron Man Hat & Hand Warmers - a gift

Phew...I was a busy rocker! I love love love crochet and I am getting better at designing my own stuff too. I think it's about confidence sprinkled with experience. I'm still learning but getting braver about mixing stitches and techniques.

2013 is going to be a phenomenal year for you, me, all the rockers and crochet! I can't wait to get started. Enjoy 2013.

Rock your crochet!
